Major Duties

  • Serve as the Security Specialist responsible to support the Command Security Manager administering all intelligence-related security programs of the Network Enterprise Center (NEC).
  • Initiate security clearance investigations for all personnel assigned to the NEC. Administers all security programs in accordance with current laws, regulations and policies.
  • Plan, develop, and implement PHYSEC policies and procedures to ensure protection of buildings and equipment assigned to NEC.
  • Interpret and provide direction for security applications and ensures compliance with established security related directives.
  • Perform facility walk-throughs to monitor compliance with security procedures / processes and report deficiencies to supervisor.

  • student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience;

To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job.

  • Specialized experience is defined as experience which includes editing personnel records within an approved system of record for security clearances, such as Defense Information Security System (DISS);
  • utilizing two or more of the following disciplines - Communications Security (COMSEC), Personnel Security (PERSEC), Information Security (INFOSEC), Physical Security (PHYSEC);

AND performing security inquires or investigations. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade / level position in the federal service (GG / GS-09).

OR A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as International Relations, Foreign Area Studies, Political Science, Geography, Foreign Affairs, International Law, History, Economics, Demography, Engineering, Law, Sociology, Psychology, Military Science, Cartography, Social or Cultural Anthropology, and / or Physical or Chemical Science.

Creditable experience may include previous military experience, experience gained in the private sector or in another government agency as long as it was at a level at least equivalent to the next lower band in the series.
