Job Description : 5th-8th Grade Core Content Teacher (English Language Arts, Humanities, Mathematics, Science)

Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Core Content Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will create a positive and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students. The Core Content Teacher will be responsible for delivering effective instruction, monitoring student progress, and working collaboratively with other educators and staff members to ensure each student reaches their full potential.

What are my roles and responsibilities?

Teaching and Learning

• Internalize, adapt and implement lesson plans based on curriculum standards and students' needs.
• Deliver engaging and rigorous content and instruction to students that enables all students to grow and succeed.
• Collaborate with content and grade-level teams to adapt plans based on student academic and culture data
• Work closely with Learning Support Specialists to differentiate standards-aligned curriculum to meet student needs, especially for Exceptional Learners and English Language Learners
• Participate in the development and implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) when applicable.
• Engage in weekly, data-based coaching and planning cycles with teammates.
• Provide timely feedback to students on their work and progress, offering additional support when needed.
• Maintain accurate and timely attendance and gradebook records for students
• Communicate regularly with parents / guardians regarding students' academic progress and behavioral concerns.
• Participate in schoolwide and personal professional development.
