About The Position
Job Title : Surgical Technologist Job Specialty : Operating Room (OR) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Days, Monday through Friday Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of 2 years as a Surgical Technologist with at least 1 year in Orthopedics License : Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) required prior to start Certifications : Active Basic Life Support (BLS) - Must be AHA Must-Have : - Strong orthopedic experience - Experience with Epic system - Willingness to obtain ND UAP prior to start Job Description : Perform various orthopedic procedures : Hands, Podiatry, Arthroscopic procedures, Fractures, and Total Joints.
- Responsible for opening sterile supplies and instruments, setting up for surgical cases.- First scrubbing on surgical cases and assisting with turnovers.
- Assist other ORs when assigned room is not running.- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team; circulate with a nurse.
- Manage equipment such as the Arthrex tower for arthroscopy procedures.- Participate in call rotation if preferred : one weekend every 6 weeks and one weekday call every other week.
- Engage in a team-oriented environment, assisting in all duties within legal scope of practice.- Orientation includes 5 days focused on Orthopedics with exposure to various cases.
Optional training in Eye procedures if needed.
