Position Summary : The Service Inspection Technician is responsible for the physical / operational inspection and documentation of low voltage systems including, but not limited to, fire alarm, access control, CCTV, nurse call and security.
All work must be done while developing and maintaining relationships with a broad base of external customers including commercial facilities, entertainment venues, places of worship, manufacturers, etc.
as well as with internal customers (salespersons, technicians, etc.).
Essential Functions and Responsibilities :
- Perform routine inspections, testing, and preventative maintenance on low voltage systems.
- Thoroughly and accurately complete associated documentation for all inspections.
- Troubleshoot systems to determine source of problem and recommend solution(s).
- Completion and transmittal of assigned work orders to office on daily basis.
- Attend all scheduled in office technician meetings.
- Participate in on-call Service rotation at regularly scheduled intervals.
Experience Requirements :
- 3-5 years of industry experience.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and parts manuals to diagnose / troubleshoot and repair minor issues.
- Experience with hand tools and multi-meter usage.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Ability to regularly carry and climb a 6' or taller ladder.
- Ability to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds.
- Ability to use ladders and lifts to include work in unusual and sometimes difficult locations.
- Possess a valid driver’s license and a driving record that meets company requirements ( required ).
- Maintain a professional appearance, attitude, and ability to communicate with customers at all levels.
