IPS - Rubbercraft is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager - Extrusion with a strong background in aerospace rubber extrusion products to join our team.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for identifying and pursuing new business opportunities, nurturing existing client relationships, and driving growth within the aerospace, defense, space, chemical, energy, medical equipment and other highly engineered custom products sectors.

Working Conditions
- Remote or onsite at Rubbercraft Long Beach, California. Daily availability during work hours is required. Travel 50% to manufacturing sites, customer locations or Industry events.
- Standard office environment. Work requires substantial visual concentration on detail. Working conditions are normal for a manufacturing environment.
- Manufacturing operations may require the use of safety equipment to include but not limited to : eye safety glasses, gowning, masks, hearing protectors, heel / wrist straps and any other required PPE
- May be exposed to unusual environmental conditions such as loud noises, cold temperatures, confined spaces, dust or fumes
- Standing : 30% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task / Sitting : 70% *percentage is approximate and may vary depending on work task / Lifting (in pounds) : up to 20 pounds / Pushing (in pounds) : up to 20 pounds / Mental / Visual : use of computer / Workspace (line, cube, etc) : Office or Cubicle
Main Duties and Responsibilities :
- Identify and prioritize target markets, segments, and potential customers within the aerospace, defense, space, chemical, energy, medical equipment and other highly engineered custom rubber extrusion products.
- Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to achieve sales targets and expand market share.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, influencers, and stakeholders in the aerospace sector.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including engineering, manufacturing, and quality assurance to ensure alignment with customer requirements and specifications.
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to stay abreast of industry trends, developments, and opportunities.
- Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations, proposals, and contract negotiations to secure new business opportunities.
- Actively participate in industry events, trade shows, and networking forums to promote company visibility and brand awareness.
- Provide regular reporting and updates on sales performance, pipeline development, and market insights to senior management.
- Collaborates and partners with other internal functions to accomplish product design, production, delivery, and support of products.
- Assume additional responsibilities as required.
Requirements : Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful job performance will be considered.
Typical qualifications would be :
- Required proven experience in business development, sales, or account management with a focus on rubber extrusion products.
- Deep understanding of rubber extrusion industry dynamics, market trends, and regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrated track record of successfully closing complex sales deals and achieving revenue targets for engineering rubber extrusion products.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and credibility with diverse stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and strategic thinking abilities, with a proactive and results-driven mindset.
- Proficiency in CRM software, Microsoft Office Suite, and other relevant business tools.
- Proven ability to analyze data in excel and review, modify PowerPoint presentations for executive leadership and customers.
