Purpose of Position :
- Accurately select, prepare, and ship customer orders
- Maintain high standards of quality, productivity, and safety
- Operate material-handling equipment to support distribution functions
- Perform basic computer functions to process and document orders
- Ensure orders are completed accurately and on time
- Responsible for daily preparation of orders for shipment and completion of shipping forms, while ensuring quality and production expectations are met for accurate and on-time completion of customer orders
Essential Duties and Responsibilities :
Prepare orders for shipment, ensuring accuracy and on-time fulfilmentSet up work area and obtain necessary equipment and materialsAccurately select finished goods from stock using an Intermec handheld scanner and tabletPack, seal, label, stencil, and prepare goods for shipmentComplete required documentation, including packing / shipping forms, bills of lading, and UPS / FedEx recordsLoad outgoing shipments and verify carton counts against bills of ladingOperate forklifts and material-handling equipment as neededUnload incoming overseas shipment containers that are floor loaded and palletizedPerform basic computer functions for order processing and record-keepingMaintain a clean and organized work area following 5S standardsAssist in other areas of distribution as assigned by the supervisorFollow all company safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE)Ensure compliance with all company policies and proceduresCommunicate clearly and professionally with co-workers and leadersMaintain punctuality for shift start times and breaksPossess reliable transportation to ensure consistent attendanceBe available and willing to work overtime as business needs requireRequirements :
Education and / or Work Experience Requirements :
Basic verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to read and follow customer orders and shipping documentsAbility to work independently and complete tasks efficiently within given instructionsBasic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals)Must be willing to operate a pallet rider—will need to complete onsite training and pass certificationMust be 18 years or olderMust be legally permitted to work in the United StatesPreferred Qualifications :
Previous warehouse experience in an order fulfillment or shipping / receiving roleExperience with inventory management systems or warehouse softwareForklift certification or prior experience operating material-handling equipmentThe knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a high school diploma and / or GEDPhysical Requirements :
Regularly bend, stoop, reach, twist, lift, push, and pull materialsFrequently stand, walk, and lift items up to 70 lbsAbility to operate a pallet rider and forklift (after training / certification)Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standards, including meeting qualitative and / or quantitative productivity standards.Ability to maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with the ADA, FMLA and other federal, state and local standardsEnvironment :
Warehouse setting with exposure to temperature changes, moving machinery, and loud noiseRequires the use of PPE and adherence to all safety protocols
