The Role :

This position is responsible for providing strategic leadership, oversight, and direction to the engineering and technical service team, and for overseeing the management of all field and application engineering activities, site services, and training functions required to achieve company stated growth objectives.

The Manager of Engineering Services is responsible for managing a large application solution opportunity portfolio, as well as coordination of site services and training activities across our territory.

A critical component of this role is the ability to identify future market and customer trends and develop deep and meaningful relationships with strategic customers to capitalize on large application and service opportunities.

The Manager of Engineering Services must be a highly motivated, self-starter who is competitive in nature, thinks creatively about how to solve customer challenges, understands customer applications related to Swagelok, enjoys spending time onsite with customers and has the ability to connect people from multiple disciplines to solve a problem.

The Manager of Engineering Services reports to the President of Swagelok Denver.

What you will do :

  • Drive deeper understanding of our customers applications across multiple markets.
  • Develop and execute suite of site services to provide long-term site access to our field engineers and technical specialists.
  • Attract, recruit, coach, develop and retain talent to maintain the engineering and technical services talent pipeline across the organization.
  • Demonstrate competency & legitimacy via the ability to blend business & technical into compelling stories for both customers and associates.
  • Develop and implement a service strategy for customers, both direct through our SSC and through the Swagelok network.
  • Utilize technology and analytics to optimize efforts and measure results.
  • Negotiate win-win contracts favorable to Swagelok with customers both direct through our SSC and through the Swagelok network.
  • Manage company risk and profitability for large application solutions opportunities.
  • Make sound independent business decisions using data and applying multiple lenses and alternative scenarios to test theories before concluding.
  • Build and lead an engineering services team capable of exceeding customer expectations and company growth goals.
  • Function as part of the leadership team to shape and grow the company through our strategic planning and execution process.
  • Work cross-functionally with a focus on optimizing the business with a lean mindset.
  • Work collaboratively with sales to ensure our offers and strategies align with market opportunities.
  • Develop a defined and targeted communications plan and supporting tools to generate consistent messaging to the new engineering services team and target marketplace.
  • Lead new sales model designs and execution to improve sales efficiency especially focusing on solutions and selling services.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to drive engineering solutions at customer sites.
  • As a leader, you are expected to know, enforce, and appropriately escalate all Swagelok associate policies.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelors degree in Engineering required
  • Minimum 5 years in a leadership role
  • Technical knowledge of Swageloks products and services and / or fluid systems preferred
  • Ability to communicate at all levels, internally and externally
  • Ability to motivate and lead team through influence
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, walking, bending, and light lifting (typically less than 50 lbs.).
