Job Summary
The Department of Biology in the College of Science, at the University of Texas at Arlington, invites applications for multiple non-tenure track Assistant Professor of Instruction positions.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities The department is seeking qualified instructors with a passion for working with undergraduates to teach one or more of the following courses : Anatomy and Physiology, General Biology, Genetics, Nutrition, Virology, Immunology, and other courses as needed for both pre-health and Biology majors.
Includes both introductory and upper-level courses. Non-tenure track faculty are welcomed and encouraged to participate in departmental committees and meetings, although such service is not required.
UTA provides extensive opportunities for pedagogical professional development. Non-tenure track faculty are eligible to apply for faculty grants for research and travel and are encouraged to present their pedagogical research at educational conferences.

Required Qualifications The successful candidate will have a PhD in Biology or closely related field, experience teaching large diverse classes, the ability to work collaboratively in a team-teaching arrangement, enthusiasm for working with undergraduates, and demonstrated excellence in teaching at the college level utilizing active learning and innovative pedagogies.
Preferred Qualifications Preference will be given to candidates having at least two years of experience teaching university-level biology courses, and those who are familiar with the Canvas learning management system and the design and instruction of hybrid and online courses.
