Responsibilities :

Patient Care : Provide comprehensive nursing care to pediatric patients in the ER, including triage, assessment, stabilization, and treatment.

Emergency Response : Respond calmly and efficiently to a variety of pediatric emergencies, including trauma, respiratory distress, and cardiac events.

Collaboration : Work collaboratively with pediatricians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Communication : Effectively communicate with patients, families, and team members to ensure coordinated and compassionate care.

Documentation : Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient care and treatment.

Schedule :

Full Time : 36-hour weeks (3x12s) or 48-hour weeks (4x12s), variable shifts or straight nights.

Weekend Requirements : 4 weekend shifts per 4-week period.

Holidays : Must work 2 out of 3 holidays. No Christmas RTO allowed.

Time Off : No more than 6 days total RTO.

Scheduling : Blocked scheduling can be requested.

Qualifications : Required :

Required :

Graduation from an accredited nursing program.

Active or pending California RN License (with ETAs for posting if pending).

2+ years of recent experience in a segmented / separate pediatric ED or children's hospital.

BLS and PALS certifications.

Experience with computerized charting.

Triage, IV start, Telemetry, and Conscious Sedation experience.

Preferred :

De-escalation training.

Additional Information :

Important Note : Only candidates with pediatric experience in a children's hospital setting will be considered for this role.

Mixed adult / pediatric ER experience will not be considered.

Variable Shift Explanation : Travelers will not be scheduled a day shift then a night shift. Variable means they can be scheduled any of our 7 different shifts depending on needs at that time.

Generally, they may be scheduled 2 different shifts in a month however, they are similar shifts (i.e. 12 / 14, 7 / 9, 14 / 16, 16 / 19).
