Position Overview

This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape the future of our production landscape, setting the tone for efficiency, quality, and exceptional client service.

As Head of Manufacturing, you'll take the helm of our highly skilled team, overseeing every stage of production from creating parts through fulfillment.

You'll champion cross-functional collaboration across our CNC, Build, Metal, and Finish specializations, ensuring seamless execution and timely delivery of flawless products that exceed our clients' expectations.

Salary range : $100k to $140k.

Position Responsibilities

You will drive overall manufacturing performance, with full accountability for meeting production targets, quality standards, delivery deadlines, and safety / business compliance.

We’ll rely on you for strategic direction and leadership for the entire manufacturing operation, aligning production with overall company goals and objectives.

You will oversee and guide the managers of each specialized manufacturing area (CNC, Build, Metal, Finish), ensuring efficient workflow, resource allocation, and adherence to quality standards.

You’ll direct effective cross-functional collaboration between departments, prioritizing production schedules, resolving workflow bottlenecks, and maintaining a dynamic working environment.

Critical to getting things done, you’ll build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including engineering, project management, and purchasing teams.

Making sure we learn and grow from our experiences, you’ll work with management to implement continuous improvement initiatives, optimizing processes to enhance efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness.

To ensure all products meet and exceed client specifications, you’ll work with the teams to help work and rework, as well as maintain robust quality control measures.

To keep everyone safe and production moving, you’ll work with our Facility Manager and other managers to foster a culture of safety and environmental awareness within the manufacturing team.

In managing capacity planning and resource allocation to meet client deadlines, you’ll develop and implement production schedules.

To ensure we are tracking on success, you’ll assist in the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and report on the success of the manufacturing operation.

Essential Skills and Experience

We’re looking for a minimum 10 years of experience in a leadership role within a custom manufacturing environment. You’ll need a proven track record of successfully managing and optimizing production processes.

To execute your role, working all levels of the company, you’ll need excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and engage teams.

  • Knowledge in each of our four key manufacturing areas, with expertise in wood fabrication.
  • CNC : Strong understanding of CNC programming, machine operation, and material selection.
  • Building : Expertise in woodworking and cabinetry techniques, assembly processes, and quality control procedures.
  • Metalworking : understanding of welding, cutting, forming, and finishing of metal components.
  • Finishing : knowledge of surface preparation, painting, powder coating, and other finishing techniques.

Tech-savviness is important, along with proficiency in production planning methodologies and scheduling software. We use a variety of software, from an in-house crafted ERP system, to Smartsheet, Slack, Google Docs, etc.

With custom projects, come custom solutions, you’ll need to be keen on asking questions and have a strong analytical and problem-solving skills approach.
