Job Title : Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW)
Location : Bethesda, MD
Position Summary :
We are seeking an experienced Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to provide comprehensive social work services to patients, their families, and caregivers within a hospital and clinical setting.
The role will involve collaboration with medical teams to create safe discharge plans and deliver state-of-the-art care, ensuring optimal patient adjustment throughout their treatment journey.
Key Responsibilities :
- Provide in-person social work services to patients and families, offering emotional support, crisis intervention, and psychotherapy (individual, family, and group).
- Collaborate with medical staff to develop treatment and discharge plans for patients with complex medical and psychiatric conditions.
- Identify and provide referrals to a variety of community resources for continuity of care and assist in coordinating external support services.
- Screen research participants for psychosocial risk and provide appropriate referrals to social work staff.
- Perform psychosocial assessments of patients and families to address illness-related factors impacting their care.
- Document patient interactions and clinical findings in medical records.
- Assist in the development of recruitment strategies for research protocols and conduct screenings for potential participants.
- Attend interdisciplinary team meetings, providing insights into the psychosocial factors impacting patient care and protocol compliance.
Minimum Education & Experience :
- Master of Social Work (MSW) from an accredited program.
- 5-8 years of post-clinical licensure experience in a medical setting.
- Licensure for Independent Clinical Social Work Practice (LCSW-C for MD, LICSW for DC, or LCSW for VA).
- Advanced Clinical License to Practice Independently.
- Medical malpractice insurance at market rateM per occurrence and market rateM aggregate.
Skills & Qualifications :
- Proven ability to coordinate and collaborate with medical teams.
- Strong diagnostic and clinical skills in family systems therapy, crisis intervention, and cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Extensive knowledge of mental health, medical, and social services, both locally and nationwide.
- Strong interpersonal and organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Proficiency in MS Office Suite and medical documentation systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written formats.
- Resourceful problem-solving skills and a strong customer service focus.
