Carlton Fields is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant for its Los Angeles office. The candidate will have a minimum of five to seven years of litigation experience focusing on Complex Civil Litigation, Commercial Litigation, National Class Action, Multi-District Litigation, Mass Torts, Business Litigation, and Trial Support.
This position will support Shareholders, Of Counsel, and Associates in a busy office.
Duties of the position include, but are not limited to :
- E-Filing and E-Service with Federal and State Court
- Proficiency with local court rules
- Mastery of Microsoft Word, including styles, numbering and schemes, Excel, Adobe, Workshare redlining, and Best Authority
- Assisting attorneys in preparing, proofreading and revising documents
- Preparing briefing binders
- Calendaring using Vision Compulaw and Outlook
- Maintaining files and records using FileSite / iManage, experience is preferred
- Submitting new business intake, conflict check requests, preparing engagement letters
- Client billing
- Preparing expense reimbursement, budget, and check requests
- Coordination and handling of client audit requests
- Scheduling travel, appointments and maintaining of calendars, reminders
- Working independently and as part of a coordinated team
- Availability to work overtime
- Cross-desk support for LA Office Legal Administrative Assistants during absences or other office workflow needs
