Summary of Responsibility :

The Wellness Resident Assistant provides routine daily nursing care and services that support the care delivered to residents requiring long-term or rehabilitative care, in accordance with the established nursing care procedures and as directed by the supervisor.

The Dominion Wellness Travel Program was developed to allow for greater flexibility in scheduling employees to cover peak workload times or when circumstances warrant additional staffing needs.

Dominion Travel Wellness Resident Assistants are expected to be on-call and available to cover any shift(s) that arise in their assigned territory.

Travel Wellness Resident Assistants do not have a regular schedule and are not guaranteed a specific number of hours, however, this is a full-time, hourly position with a minimum of 32 or more hours a week.

  • Typical shifts include - four 8-hour shifts or three 12-hour shift, and Travel Wellness Resident Assistants must have flexible availability to cover the 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift based on the needs of the community.
  • Travel assignments per community could last from 1-10 consecutive days.

Travel Wellness Resident Assistants Program Guidelines

  • Travel Team Member will remain on-call 24 / 7
  • Travel Team Member will report directly to VP of Wellness
  • Travel Team Member will be required to schedule and receive approval of any PTO requests at least 30 days in advance.
  • Travel Team Member will adhere to schedule based on community needs and as directed by VP of Wellness
  • Travel Team Member will keep certifications and licensure up to date and applicable to multi-state (compact) as required by the states in assigned territory.
  • Travel Team Member will remain in compliance and up to date on all state-required training
  • If a Travel Wellness Residents Assistant refuses 2 shifts in a 6-month rolling period, the Travel Team Member will be removed from the Dominion Travel Program permanently.

Education, Experience, Licensure / Certification, Age Requirements :

  • A High School diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Completion of a certification program for Nursing Assistants is preferred.
  • Must successfully complete a CPR and First Aid course and maintain a current CPR and First Aid certificate.
  • Must obtain valid Continuing Education credits as required by the State of the community.
  • Previous Nursing Assistant experience, caregiver experience, or student nurse is preferred.
  • Experience with seniors and especially cognitively impaired seniors (those with Alzheimers or Dementia) is preferred.
  • Approved criminal background check, physical, drug screen, and TB skin test is required.
  • Must be a minimum of eighteen (18) years of age.

Application Process : Internal Team Members will be considered for The Dominion Wellness Travel team if there are no past performance issues, and team members have displayed regular and predictable attendance in their current community.
