Job Description
The Senior Data Analyst will join the Square Compliance Analytics team to transform Square Compliance into a global data-driven Compliance organization.
You will manage critical regulatory data requests for multiple markets, help redesign our global reporting strategy, deliver strategic insights to global compliance leadership, and collaborate with operations and compliance to redesign, streamline and automate our workflows.
You will :
- Build databases, design dashboards, and define metrics to support scale, analyze risks, and provide easily understood reports for operational teams and senior management in each market.
- Collaborate with compliance and audit teams to understand data requirements and provide relevant data insights.
- Write complex SQL queries to extract, manipulate, and analyze data from various databases to fulfill ad-hoc audit requests.
- Design scalable reporting frameworks that meet the requirements of disparate markets and stakeholders and streamline ad-hoc requests.
- Uncover relevant insights on topics affecting compliance, including : new risks, compliance operating effectiveness, risk tolerance, product launches and usage, and key performance and risk indicators.
Qualifications
You have :
- 7+ years of related experience.
- Expert level abilities in SQL and data analysis / visualization tools (i.e. Tableau, Looker).
- Vision to define problems and manage projects in a fast-paced, evolving organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple concurrent requests and projects.
- Experience using data to solve complex, ambiguous problems.
- Excellent project management skills, stakeholder management skills, and communication skills.
- Strongly preferred experience in financial services, fintech, financial crimes, or compliance.
- Preferred experience using Python, R and Airflow.
Additional Information
Block takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.
The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions.
These ranges may be modified in the future.
Zone A : USD $135,200 - USD $202,800
