Position Overview :

  • Knows, understands, incorporates, and demonstrates the Mission, Vision, Values of Capital Health in behaviors, practices, and decisions.

  • Promotes and maintains collaborative relationships with managers, peers, direct reports and customers by effectively fostering a team environment, building consensus and resolving conflicts.
  • Maintains department budget, places orders for equipment and supplies as necessary. Identifies financial vulnerabilities and makes cost reduction recommendations as needed.
  • Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
  • Provides leadership over the development of annual operating plans and related operating and capital budgets.
  • Assists with development and implementation of long-term goals and objectives for operations, which support its overall strategic direction.
  • Oversees development and implementation of ongoing measures / evaluation methods related to all dimensions of performance inclusive of budget, productivity, quality and other targets.
  • In collaboration with Capital Health Medical Group Chief Medical Officer and PACE Medical Director develops and directs the implementation of effective evidence-based programs to measure, analyze and continuously improve the safety and quality of all member care services through empiric outcomes.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Education

Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field. Master's degree preferred.

Experience

  • Three (3) or more years of executive / director level healthcare experience including geriatric service management responsibilities.
  • One (1) year experience working with the elderly population preferred.
  • Home care, hospice, community care and / or long-term care management experience preferred.
  • In collaboration with Capital Health Public Relations leaders, develop strategic alliances with key elected officials, community groups, consumers and others to influence policy affecting PACE.
  • Communicates on a regular basis with senior leaders, the medical staff, the board and other identified stakeholders regarding achievements and concerns related to member safety, quality, associate engagement and participant satisfaction.

Knowledge and Skills

Knowledge and understanding of the health care environment and full continuum of healthcare options, programs and services for older adults including acute, sub-acute, long-term care, and home care.

Knowledge of related governmental and accreditation agency requirements. Working knowledge of managed care concepts.

  • Advanced analytical skills in order to organize, plan and coordinate operational activities and participate in development of long-range plans for the organization.
  • In depth knowledge of system thinking, change leadership, shared governance, matrix reporting, continuous improvement, process excellence, and financial and productivity management.
  • Ability to synthesize and interpret large amounts of clinical, quality, and financial data.
  • Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility.

Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.

Possess interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment and productivity when working with cross-functional teams, customers and end users.

Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual, collaborative shared leadership environment.

Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site or virtual environment is required.

Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.

Comprehensive proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system.

Knowledge of systems necessary, experience preferred. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.

  • Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and independent decision-making abilities with the skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization.
  • Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple duties and functions related to daily operations and maintain excellent customer service skills.

Ability to perform frequent detailed tasks and provide immediate service with frequent interruptions. Ability to change and be flexible with work priorities.

Strong problem-solving skills.

Ability to research, analyze and assimilate information from various on-site or virtual sources based on technical and experience-based knowledge.

Must exhibit critical thinking skills and possess the ability to prioritize workload.
