Volunteer Training Specialist

The Aparecio Foundation is a nonprofit organization that was designed as an economic development strategy to lift women out of poverty and as a community development approach to build the leadership capacity of low-income women. The Aparecio Foundation provides academic support and scholarship programs for high-potential, low-income women in public high schools through an eight-year multiple-mentor program.

This is an unpaid volunteer position.

Job Description

The Training Specialist's primary goal is to develop the training curricula based need assessment analysis. The Training Specialist then is responsible for the development of training initiative, facilitation and evaluation of the training modules and programs. In addition, the Training Specialist supervises and monitors the work of interns in the training and development projects.

Description of Duties / Responsibilities :

  • Assess organizational training needs through various training needs analyses.
  • Research literature on training modules and curricula to develop proper training programs based on project plans.
  • Design, plan, and present training programs to targeted audiences specifically designed to help employees maintain or improve work skills.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and record training activities.
  • Evaluate training materials, training process and the delivery methods by conducting follow up surveys with the purpose to improve future training work and programs.
  • Organize, develop and obtain training manuals, guides and handouts to improve the training experience.
  • Compile research information into easy outlines and handouts.
  • Find and establish best practices on training development and programs to adapt and implement in the workplace.
  • Present the findings on a specific training program to OD team, directors, and identified audiences.
  • Ensure information on project updates is communicated on daily basis with OD directors, other OD specialists, and interns.
  • Provide interns with feedback on their work and recognize their accomplishments.
  • Communicate expectations from interns prior to the start of the internship period.
  • Work collaboratively with OD Specialists to build and design the organization's structure.

Qualifications

Bachelors Degree. Masters preferred. Have some work experience in related field.
