Your job will be to ensure that our customers continue to trust us when it comes to food safety.
Successful candidates will hold two jobs, and are hired as a "Sanitation Operator / Sanitation Utility" slash bid. These roles are both within the Sanitation department, but have different job tasks and responsibilities.
The hourly wage for Sanitation Operator is $26.19 / Hr +$1 shift differential, the wage for Sanitation Utility is $25.15 / Hr + $1 shift premium.
You will be paid according to which tasks you perform.
As a Sanitor, you can expect to work on your feet the entirety of your shift near heavy machinery in a loud manufacturing environment.
We wear protective equipment, and we squeeze, crawl, and climb wherever we need to go to make sure a job is done correctly.
Frito-Lay manufacturing facilities are also large. While we want everyone to feel comfortable, our ability to control the temperature is limited.
Indoor warehouse working conditions are impacted by seasons and the weather.
Here is a list of some of the more frequent tasks you can expect to perform during a typical workday as a Sanitation Utility or Sanitation Operator :
Sanitation Utility tasks include :
- Cleaning the equipment and lines necessary for manufacturing products
- Wiping down metal conveyors, as well as cleaning manufacturing equipment
- Detailed cleaning of equipment with provided tools, including scrub pads, brushes, picks and paper towels
- Inspecting equipment with a flashlight to verify successful cleaning
- Filling out end of shift paperwork validating work completion
Sanitation Operator tasks include :
- Working with chemicals, high pressure hot water, and cleaning agents
- Removing parts / doing basic disassembly of large equipment to gain access to hard-to-reach areas
- Thoroughly rinsing corn and potato debris off of conveyor belts, out of pipes, and off of equipment
- Applying various acids and caustics with pump sprayers and foam dispensing hoses
- General housekeeping in your working area
- Manually controlling motors and belts using a computer interface
- Filling out end of shift paperwork validating work completion
Whether you are experienced or not, please be sure you meet the following minimum requirements before starting your application :
- You are 18 years of age or older
- You will be required to work on some weekends, holidays as well as off shift
- You can climb, climb, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, and stretch for extended periods with or without a reasonable accommodation
- You are willing to work at heights using ladders or lifts to access areas of the plant
- You are willing and able to work in an environment that has extreme temperatures, humidity, hazardous / loud equipment, and slippery surfaces
