Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN with Epic EMR proficiency and an active Oregon RN license for night shifts in a large hospital setting.
Responsibilities
Work in the ICU of a hospital with over 300 bedsPatient ratios are 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 depending on acuityCares for patients with diagnoses including sepsis, respiratory failure, traumatic brain injury, neurosurgical interventions, multi-system organ failure, stroke, GI bleeding, cardiac / respiratory arrest, complex vascular surgery, and multi-system trauma12-hour night shifts (19 : 00-07 : 30) with a 3x12 schedule13-week contract with potential for extensionConstant floating between ICU and PCU units is requiredTravelers may float to an affiliate hospital located approximately 15 minutes awayEpic is the charting system used and prior experience with Epic is requiredDaily duties include managing critically ill patients with a diverse range of acute and complex conditionsStrict RTO policy requires all time-off requests to be finalized prior to contract acceptance and no changes allowed post-submittalNo block scheduling is accommodatedModules must be completed pre-start and annually, relevant to specialtyTravelers are the first to float when necessary, including to affiliate sitesLocal candidates are accepted at the same rate, with no radius restrictionsReturn staff may not apply until 6 months after their previous employment endedUnit does not handle open heart or cardiac ICU casesRequirements
Active Oregon RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum 18 months of experience in a large hospital with more than 300 bedsAt least 2 years of ICU nursing experienceCertifications required : BLS and ACLSEpic EMR experience is a hard requirementProficiency in IV starts, telemetry, conscious sedation, and ventilator managementPreferred certifications : CCRN, CPI, TNCCPreferred skills : ICP monitoring and use of pulmonary artery linesCOVID vaccination required with no exemptions acceptedFormer permanent employees must be separated from any Salem Health facility for at least 6 months prior to considerationBenefits
