Job Summary and Qualifications
The Nurse Educator enhancesprofessional practice and the provision of quality patient care byproviding evidence-based quality educational programs andactivities that promote professional competency for nursing,inter-professional, and non-licensed clinical staff at the assignedfacility.
In this role youwill :
- Participates inthe development, coordination, managing, facilitating, conducting,and evaluating of onboarding and orientation programs for nursingand other healthcare personnel.
- Providesorientation / onboarding programs to promote employee retention.
- Collaborates with the Director of ClinicalProfessional Development to adjust the program based on evaluationresults.
- Participates in the development,coordination, and management of facilitating, conducting, andevaluating competency.
- Designs and identifieseducational activities to address practice gaps for identifiedtarget audiences, including licensed and non-licensed healthcarepersonnel, in alignment with HCA and division clinical educationrequest and development processes.
- Developsactivities to achieve specific outcomes related to identifieddeficits or opportunities for improvement in knowledge, skill andpractice.
Plans educational content delivery that encourageslearner engagement.
- Promotes and integratesthe EBP in order to continuously improve practice. Conducts,encourages, facilitates, and / or participates in research, EBP, andQI in patient care settings.
- Identifies anddevelops strategies to facilitate a continuous process ofmaturation through lifelong learning.
- Utilizesnovice-to-expert continuum when developing staff. Identifies andprovides opportunities for skill enhancement and mastery.
What experienceand education is needed for this role :
- Bachelor's Degreein Nursing, Healthcare Administration or other clinical fieldRequired
- Master's Degree in Nursing,Healthcare Administration or other clinical field Preferred
- 3+ years' experience in an acute care settingRequired
- 2+ years' experience in clinicaleducation Preferred
- Currently licensed as anRN in the state of practice or has an active compact state licensein accordance with law and regulation Required
- Basic Life Saving (BLS) Required
