pending licenses not accepted Certifications : ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Must-Have : - Ability to complete a basic Dysrhythmia / EKG competency exam- Experience with EPIC charting preferred- COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical / religious exemptions accepted) Job Description : This is a mixed unit covering PCU, Med Surg Tele, and Med Surg.
- Nurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 4 for all shifts.- Floating within the service line and between facilities as needed is required.
- Weekend shifts are every other week; night shift weekends are Friday and Saturday.- Patient age groups are adults and geriatrics.
- Patient diagnoses primarily include renal, urology, and vascular.- Special procedures on the unit include Continuous Ambulatory Peritoneal Dialysis (CAPD) and Continuous Bladder Irrigation (CBI).
- Work settings involve telemetry, cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and the interpretation and management of dysrhythmias.
- Additional duties include IV therapy / phlebotomy, peripheral line care / management, and management of patients with renal failure.
- Knowledge and experience with Heparin protocols and non-invasive airway management via nasal cannula preferred.- The facility is a Level I trauma center and utilizes EPIC for computerized charting.
- Orientation includes 4 non-billable hours.- Candidates should be prepared for fingerprinting as part of the compliance process.
Schedules are subject to change based on staffing needs, with a two-week notice provided for adjustments. The facility will offer a comprehensive orientation to ensure a smooth transition into the team.
