Payroll Analyst (Multi-State & Union)

Location : Minneapolis, MN (Hybrid schedule requiring weekly onsite presence in Minneapolis, Minnesota - only local candidates in MN are eligible for consideration)

Pay Rate : $75,000$83,000 / year (depending on experience)

Addison Group is supporting the search for a Payroll Analyst to join a collaborative and established organization in Minneapolis. This position plays an integral role in ensuring accurate and compliant payroll operations across multiple states, including union and non-union environments. The ideal candidate brings a strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and experience supporting high-volume, hourly payroll structures.

Candidates with backgrounds in construction, manufacturing, or engineering will hit the ground running and are highly encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities include :

  • Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state, multi-union hourly and salaried employees
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of weekly / biweekly payroll cycles
  • Review timecards, adjustments, and exception reports for accuracy
  • Interpret and apply union contracts and prevailing wage requirements
  • Partner with HR and Accounting teams on payroll-to-GL reconciliations, benefits, and leave tracking
  • Process garnishments, deductions, and ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations
  • Assist with audits, payroll reporting, and payroll tax filings
  • Support payroll system upgrades, data integrity checks, and process improvement initiatives

Qualifications :

  • 4+ years of payroll experience, including union and multi-state processing
  • Prior experience in construction, engineering, or manufacturing industries preferred
  • Strong understanding of wage and hour laws, union contracts, and payroll tax compliance
  • Proficient in payroll systems (ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or similar) and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to handle confidential information
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally with HR, Finance, and Operations
