Job Title : Marine Electrician

Pay : $18-28+ / hour dependent on experience

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Marine Electrician to join our team and contribute to the maintenance and repair of electrical systems aboard ships. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in electrical theory and be adept at interpreting technical documentation.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret work specifications, blueprints, technical manuals, and schematics.
• Write reports and order materials as needed.
• Report any abnormal conditions regarding safety or mechanical issues.
• Troubleshoot complex problems on electrical equipment and systems.
• Run cabling into ships without performing pin connectorization or live terminations.
• Assist in repairing and refurbishing electrical lighting systems, communication systems, and other electrical systems aboard the ship.

Work Environment

The work environment is primarily aboard ships, involving the use of various electrical tools and equipment. Safety training, including VSRA, OSHA, and MHI Safety Training, is required to ensure a safe working environment.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Norfolk, Virginia.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $26.00 / hr.
