Job Posting : Special Education Teacher (Onsite), near Tacoma, WA
Position : Special Education Teacher
Hours : 37.5 hours per week
Dates : September 3, 2024 - December 20, 2024, Contract
Subject : 1x self-contained Autism (moderate to severe)
Responsibilities :
- Provide an optimum learning environment for all students
- Participate in, contribute to, and support group decisions and efforts
- Collaborate with staff and work in teams to provide instruction
- Employ a systematic instructional process to meet student needs
- Engage in purposeful planning for instruction aligned with standards
- Follow District and State guidelines for essential learning and strategies
- Work cooperatively with administration and staff in problem-solving
- Model lifelong learning, positive self-esteem, and respect
- Set and maintain high standards for self and students
- Adhere to Washington Code of Professional Conduct
- Perform other related duties as required
Qualifications :
- Current Washington State Special Education Teaching Certificate with appropriate endorsement
- Committed to continuous progress and developmentally appropriate practices
- Knowledge of Common Core State Standards, assessment tools, RTI, and the CEL 5D+ Instructional Framework preferred
- Ability to work effectively with a diverse population
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to relate well to students, parents, staff, and community
- Genuine desire to work with all students
- Evidence of successful experience working with students at appropriate grade levels and subject areas
- Knowledge of child growth and development needs
Pay Range : $40-$45 per hour
