PHYSICIAN ASSISTANT PER DIEM
The practice of a physician assistant shall include medical services within the education, training and experience of the physician assistant that are delegated by the supervising physician.
- Medical services rendered by physician assistants may include, but are not limited to, obtaining patient histories and performing physical examinations;
- ordering and / or performing diagnostic and therapeutic procedures; formulating a diagnosis; developing and implementing a treatment plan;
- monitoring the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions; assisting at surgery; offering counseling and education to meet patient needs;
making appropriate referrals. Physician Assistants, in an emergency, shall be authorized to treat any medical disease and / or perform any medical and surgical procedures at the hospital for affiliates.
An emergency, for these purposed, is defined as a situation in which any delay in administering treatment would result in serious harm the patient or an immediate threat to life of the patient and that a qualified practitioner is not immediately available.
Qualifications :
Graduate of an ARC-PA approved PA program and hold a bachelor’s degree or higher.
New York State License for Physician Assistant and current registration
NCCPA certification
