Wood County Hospital is now accepting applications for a Medical Technologist in our Laboratory Department. The selected candidate will provide accurate and timely testing of specimens brought into the lab.

Job Duties :
- Performs all aspects of laboratory test ordering, specimen processing, and result reporting for inhouse manual and automated procedures as well as referred testing to produce accurate, quality, timely laboratory data.
- Verifies patient identity according to hospital and department policy before performing any procedure.
- Performs required maintenance on instruments and documentation of procedures performed and as assigned.
- Demonstrates appropriate skills and knowledge required to work with neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults and geriatrics.

Hours : Full Time, 36 hours / week
Shift : Nights
Weekend Rotation
Minimum Requirements :
Minimum Education :
An associate degree in a biological, chemical, or physical science required. Associate's degree in medical technology / Clinical Laboratory Sciences preferred.
Preferred Education :
Bachelor's degree in medical technology / Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.
Preferred Experience :
1 year of clinical lab experience preferred.
Preferred Certification :
Medical Technologist (ASCP) certified or equivalent within 1 year of employment preferred.
