A well-established building materials and lumber company is seeking a hands-on Operations Manager to oversee yard operations and support sales activities at one of their flagship locations. This role balances operational leadership (yard, inventory, deliveries) with customer-facing sales coordination ensuring product availability, timely dispatch, and outstanding service for both contractors and retail customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily yard operations : receiving, inventory control, staging, and yard safety.
• Supervise and coach yard, delivery, and counter staff; manage schedules and performance reviews.
• Coordinate delivery and dispatch services, including boom truck / forklift operations and driver scheduling.
• Partner with sales teams to ensure accurate estimates, timely order fulfillment, and high-level customer satisfaction.
• Maintain yard organization and implement loss-prevention and quality control measures.
• Monitor operational KPIs and budget drivers; implement process improvements to boost throughput and reduce costs.
• Ensure full compliance with safety standards while fostering a culture of safety.
• Assist with hiring, onboarding, and training of yard and delivery staff.
