Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer / Ultrasound Tech with ARDMS or ARRT credentials and experience performing a range of ultrasound procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Work in an acute care radiology ultrasound department
  • Perform a variety of ultrasound procedures including abdominal, pelvic, OB / GYN, vascular, small parts, and potentially cardiac exams
  • Ten-hour day shifts, 4 days per week, with weekend on-call responsibilities
  • Possible floating to other facilities within a 60-mile radius as required by assignment zone
  • Uses Epic charting system
  • Duties include patient preparation, image acquisition, positioning, and performing IV starts and contrast administration as required
  • Participates in clinical training of staff and students and quality improvement initiatives
  • Maintains clean and safe work environment and completes required documentation
  • May be assigned technologist duties in other registered modalities when needed
  • Adherence to all radiation safety and ALARA principles required
  • Flu vaccination required during flu season with medical exemptions only and no religious exemptions allowed
  • Local candidates within 60 miles are not eligible as travelers
  • Required to comply with all federal, state, and hospital regulations

    • Requirements

  • Certification required : ARDMS registered RDMS(OB / GYN) or (AB) or (BR); or ARRT R.T.(S)(ARRT) or R.T.(S)(BS)(ARRT); RVT(VT) or R.T.(S)(VS)(ARRT); or RDCS(AE) / (PE) or CCI (RCS)
  • American Heart Association BLS required
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • One year of ultrasound experience strongly preferred
  • Must hold an active license if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
  • Must be able to provide copies of active certifications for consideration
  • Experience with Epic EMR preferred
