PSC is looking for a SENIOR CONSULTANT to join our team. In this role, you will engage in a variety of natural resource management and environmental policy projects.
Project work will span our client base throughout the state of Michigan and you will work with clients to provide research, strategic counsel, and thought leadership.
- Senior consultants manage projects, facilitate meetings, and produce reports and other client deliverables. Essential Duties Conducts, translates, and analyzes public policy research, primarily in areas related to environmental and natural resource policy, including natural resource management, climate and adaptation, water and transportation infrastructure and affordability, environmental justice, and / or land-use planning Manages multiple projects concurrently including directing the scope of work, collaborating with team members to complete project tasks, and managing client expectations resulting in high-quality project deliverables completed on time and on budget Develops research reports, strategy documents, and other client deliverables Uses strategic thinking to connect clients with relevant information and offer potential solutions Plans and facilitates meetings, focus groups, strategic planning sessions, and other events Maintains excellent client relationships through execution of PSC's client care commitment Expectations of All PSCers Collaborates and communicates well with staff and clients in a fast-paced environment with diverse people and projects, fostering a supportive, creative working environment for all PSC colleagues Demonstrates initiative, critical thinking, and sound judgment to generate ideas, work approaches, presentation of information, and issue resolution Manages workload effectively while engaged in multiple projects concurrently with high accuracy and attention to detail, seeking clarification when appropriate Adheres to PSC’s quality assurance processes Seeks areas of personal growth and identifies steps toward success, including mentorship, ongoing learning, and professional development opportunities Is occasionally available beyond regular work hours as necessary to respond to staff and firm needs Qualifications Bachelor’s degree and six years of relevant work experience;
- Master’s degree preferred Strong policy research and writing skills, with the ability to accurately interpret data and write concisely Experience working on public policy topics with diverse stakeholders Demonstrated experience performing comparable duties Strong competency using the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel;

Work is primarily performed indoors, with extended periods at a computer or on the telephone. The nature of the work involves multitasking, completing repetitive tasks, and having contact with the public and clients.
