The Manager of HR will ensure that employee services, policies, and programs serve the needs of over 450 employees across the Los Angeles region while developing new processes and systems that support staff.
The Manager of HR will report to the Sr. Director of People and HR, and work closely with school- and regional-based staff.

Key Responsibilities
The Manager of Human Resources job responsibilities include :
Payroll
- Manage and execute organizational bi-weekly payroll processing which entails reviewing and correcting timesheets, processing changes, issue retro payments and final checks as needed.
- Review and approve all payroll registers.
- Work with all SOMs and school Managers on payroll best practices, deadlines, system enhancements and accountability on payroll timesheet review and deadlines.
- Paycom maintenance for all employee accruals, system updates and data integrity.
Employee Lifecycle (onboarding and offboarding)
- Lead and manage all elements of new employee HR orientations, compliance and lifecycle (e.g., TB, live scan, I-9 verifications, HR training, CPR, Vector Trainings, etc.).
- Lead and execute all employee offboarding which entails exit interviews, final checks and exiting employees from all HRIS platforms.
- Serve as the regional point person for HR, including (but not limited to) inquiries regarding employee requests and new hire training.
- Partner with the People and HR team and other hiring managers to connect talent strategy with a seamless HR operation that ensures that programs, policies, and services meet staff needs and with all legal, government, and benefits reporting requirements.
HR Compliance
- Ensure all CWC LA employees complete annual mandatory training (e.g., CPR, Vector Solutions, etc.).
- Train school operation team members on HR best practices and processes periodically with the support of the Sr. Director of People and HR.
- Process all employee changes, ensuring changes are captured across all platforms and trackers.
- Own and manage sections of the HR elements for all annual LAUSD oversight visits (ESSA Grids).
- Process all health and welfare invoices on behalf of the HR department.
HRIS Systems
- Partner with the People and HR team to identify and implement systems (Paycom, Helios, etc.) to automate HR processes, increase employee self-service, and ensure accurate employee data and timely reports for payroll processing and state reporting.
- Maintain and audit personnel information in the HRIS system and HR files to ensure timely and accurate processing of all employees.
- Point person for all employee email setup and troubleshooting.
- Manage the relationship with the Regional Data & Compliance team to ensure a clear data transition across systems.
