Description
The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) is seeking a fulltime Senior Strategic Communications Specialist to join our growing Strategic Communications team.

About the Role :
As the Senior Strategic Communications Specialist , you'll help ensure consistent, accurate, and engaging communication across our internal and external channels.
Position location options : Onsite at our Mendota Heights office OR Hybrid - local Twin Cities metro area, with Mondays plus one to two other days per week onsite.
Duties and Responsibilities :
Strategic Communications
- Assist Manager of Marketing and Strategic Communications in overseeing department workflow, resources, and timelines, managing multiple projects, and adapting to shifting deadlines and priorities.
- Assist with implementing and leveraging digital communication tools, including editorial management and content management systems.
- Develop strategic communications, PR and marketing plans, tactics, and after-action impact reports across a broad range of scenarios including urgent, critical, or high-stakes business issues.
- Monitor product updates, projects and initiatives impacting Strategic Communications, or which could benefit from Strategic Communications involvement.
- Partner with team members and business partners to enhance and improve communication skills and deliverables.
- Support the Strategic Communications department strategy of amplifying and responding to voice of the customer, ensuring key stakeholders' needs, preferences and pain points pertaining to communications are addressed.
- Assist with creating a culture of documentation, process creation, and implementation of new team. Assist the Strategic Communications team in the execution of communications and marketing strategies.
Content Creation and Writing
- Assist with content creation, presentation development, key messages, FAQs, and other communications tactics.
- Obtain appropriate information sources, conduct interviews, and write audience-specific copy to meet communications objectives.
Examples of writing types include : ARRT publications, internal audience, e-newsletters, website content, press releases, and social media.
Accurately simplify complex information for readers.
Proofreading and Editing
Edit and proofread content for website, emails, letters, articles, and other documents while adhering to ARRT's style guide, ensuring creation of high-quality, and error-free content.
Organizational and Departmental Understanding
- Develop and maintain a robust understanding of the organization and its policies and procedures.
- Operate independently and proactively.
- Prioritize and advance multiple projects while meeting deadlines.
- Participate actively and constructively as part of a team while demonstrating excellent interpersonal skills.
- Consult and collaborate with people across the organization and contribute to communications and marketing communication plans.
- Understand ARRT's quality standards and pay very close attention to details.
Vendor Relationships
Maintain effective vendor relationships.
Miscellaneous
- Perform miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
- Keep Manager of Marketing and Strategic Communications informed of activities via regular meetings or immediately in case of serious or potentially serious situations.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, journalism, digital content production, or related major.
- Five to ten years of experience in communications, marketing, journalism / PR, or related field.
Preferred Qualifications :
- Vendor management experience.
- Digital platform project development and deployment experience.
- Data analytics experience.
- Healthcare, credentialing, or association industry experience.
- Change management experience.
- Project management experience.
Skills and Abilities :
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with advanced level grammatical detail.
- Familiarity with Associated Press (AP) style.
- Solid understanding of communications principles, purposes, and types of projects.
- Digital communication skills including mass email and content management.
- Ability to organize concurrent tasks and timelines.
- Proficient time management skills.
- Ability to learn and understand ARRT business.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Collaborative relationship management skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, gain alignment, and progress towards goals.
- Strong presentation skills; including senior leadership and other audiences.
- Adept with technology and digital communication skills, including Office 365 (PowerPoint, Teams), website content creation, photography, video, and editorial or marketing planning tools.
