About The Position
Job Title : Registered Nurse (RN) Job Specialty : Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Nights Guaranteed Hours : 36 hours per week Experience : Minimum of one year of nursing experience License : Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in North Carolina Certifications : Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) from the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross Must-Have : Nursing Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school Job Description : Provides competent clinical nursing care consistent with professional standards.
- Responsible for coordinating and delivering patient care utilizing the nursing process in a hospital setting.- Participates in identifying and meeting learning needs, attending education programs as required.
- Uses patient education materials relevant to the patient population.- Assesses readiness to learn and developmental level of patients, considering factors affecting their ability to learn.
- Identifies expected patient outcomes and revises plans of care as needed.- Participates in interdisciplinary team discussions to evaluate patient care and promote continuity of care.
- Demonstrates competence in caring for patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety needs.
- Performs bedside point-of-care testing as required.- Utilizes healthcare organization and nursing standards, policies, and procedures in care delivery.
- Organizes and prioritizes care according to patient and family needs and consults with appropriate resources as needed.
- Develops professional growth goals and participates in performance improvement activities.- Gives feedback to co-workers and promotes a safe, clean, and secure hospital environment.
- Assesses and anticipates discharge needs, building relationships with families to advocate for patients' needs.- Collaborates with patients and families to prepare and update care plans.
- Incorporates multidisciplinary resources and addresses cultural and ethnic issues in planning care.- Engages in research by reading applicable journals and contributing ideas and questions for assessment.
- Flexibility required during holiday weeks; limited to no requests for time off will be approved around these times.
