Helio Health is on a mission to treat and promote recovery from the effects of substance use, mental health disorders, and other behavioral healthcare issues.
The Substance Use Disorder Counselor will work on a Full-Time basis out of Helio Health’s Syracuse Opioid Treatment Program (OTP).

Pay : $22.11 - $28.33 per hour.
Responsibilities :
Maintain a case load of patients seeking treatment from the effects of substance use and / or mental health disorders.
Perform essential counseling responsibilities including screening, intake and orientation, assessment, evaluation and intervention, treatment planning, referrals, crisis intervention, counseling, patient education, case management, reporting and record keeping.
Participate in program, administrative and clinical committees as assigned.
Relate effectively with staff, clients, and community while upholding confidentiality requirements.
Qualifications :
Associate's Degree in a human service field with minimum of CASAC-T required.Or a Bachelor’s Degree in a human service field with demonstrated steady progress towards QHP status (CASAC-T or enrolled in a MSW or Mental Health Counseling Masters or equivalent licensure-oriented program).
One year counseling experience preferred.
Equivalent alternative combination of education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
Knowledge of addiction / recovery, behavioral health, self-help group process and principles of counseling.
Proficiency with basic computer applications.
