This role supports the development and operations of New Glenn, a single-configuration heavy-lift launch vehicle capable of routinely carrying people and payloads to Earth's orbit and beyond.

Engineered with a reusable first stage and a seven-meter payload fairing, New Glenn is building the road to space.

As part of a hardworking team of diverse engineers, specialists, and technicians, you will be responsible for formulating and driving the configuration of the hydraulics system for New Glenn's 1st stage reusable booster.

You will share in the team's impact on all aspects of the product lifecycle.

In this role you will lead the configuration of the hydraulic system, formulating an optimized, operable, and cost-effective configuration.

You will lead hydraulic system configuration trades coordinating input and concurrence from stakeholders. You will need to identify analysis and simulation work to optimize and communicate system performance.

Develop and maintain technical documentation including schematics, design records, and validation plans. You will oversee the testing and validation of hydraulics systems to ensure performance and reliability.

You will collaborate with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams to procure, fabricate, test, and ultimately fly the hardware you have designed.

Minimum Qualifications :

  • B.S. degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
  • 7+ years of recent experience designing hydraulic system design, ideally in aerospace or equivalent type mechanical system elements within aircraft, spacecraft, or launch vehicles.
  • Strong understanding of hydraulics system design principles
  • Ability to diagnose and solve complex hydraulic system issues.
  • Experience in simulation of hydraulics system performance.
  • Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to validate system concepts.
  • In-depth understanding in the interpretation and creation of hydraulic P&IDs
  • Experience in requirements development, implementation, verification, system integration, qualification, and release.
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.

S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience in design of hydraulic valves or valve manifolds
  • Experience in spacecraft systems or component design
  • Experience in Creo (Pro-E) and Windchill PLM
  • Proficiency in data analysis and interpretation.

Compensation Range for WA applicants : $136,467.00-$191,053.80

Other site ranges may differ.
