Raytheon is hiring a Senior Simulation Software Development Engineer to support our teams in Tewksbury, Massachusetts. You will work within the Air & Missile Defense Software Department on the Patriot Simulation team.

Patriot is the world's pre-eminent air defense system, and we are currently developing Patriot training software in support of new system capabilities.

What You Will Do

  • The Patriot Simulation team develops Patriot test support software to assist in tactical software integration and software validation testing.
  • Will be working with a team of software engineers to maintain / develop Patriot Simulation software.
  • Maintain existing functionality and develop new features for Simulation software.
  • Collaborate with other teams to support requirements analysis, software integration, troubleshooting, and validation activities.
  • Support generation of documentation including, Requirements, design documentation and Software Trouble Reports.
  • This position requires onsite presence and extensive interaction with other groups including Systems Design engineering and the Software Development Team.
  • Light travel may be required.
  • Off hours testing (2nd or 3rd shift) occasionally may also be required.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and 5 years of experience.
  • Experience in Software Engineering.
  • Experience with C / C++.
  • Experience in a Unix / Linux operating system.
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.

S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Active Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in developing software using object-oriented C / C++ and other Object Oriented programming languages.
  • Experience designing and developing real-time embedded software.
  • Experience with Network Communication Protocols.
  • Experience in Shell Scripting (tcsh, csh, bash).
  • Experience with software development tools like Git / Clearcase.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.

RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education / training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and / or the company’s performance.

This role is a U.S.-based role. If the successful candidate resides in a U.S. territory, the appropriate pay structure and benefits will apply.
