- Competence in sterile field management
Description :
This position requires experience in managing neuro acute conditions.
Nurses will be responsible for monitoring patients with epilepsy, brain tumors, subdural hematomas, TBI, and other neuro diagnoses.
The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1 : 4 during both day and night shifts.
Nursing staff will need to complete a pass / fail skills lab focusing on Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes.
Education on lifts, restraints, and wound care will also be provided.
Self-scheduling is available, with a requirement to work 3 weekend shifts in a 4-week period and participate in holiday rotation.
Nurses may be floated to other Med / Surg / Telemetry floors as needed.
The unit has 48 total beds, including specialty epilepsy rooms.
Critical thinking and the ability to detect small changes in patient conditions are essential.
Nurses will use self-releasing velcro seat belts for patient safety.
Please note the hospital has the ability to cancel shifts as needed during the assignment.
