POSITION SUMMARY INFORMATION : DUTIES AND REQUIREMENTS
Job description
Duties / Responsibilities :
- Assess and monitor the health needs of shelter residents.
- Provide first aid and deliver necessary medications.
- Participate in emergency drills and respond to emergency situations.
- Educate the public about health conditions and prevention during disasters.
- Coordinate with other emergency response teams for patient evacuation or transfer.
- Maintain a minimal response time for patient requests and emergency situations.
Required Education, Certifications, Licenses, and Experience :
- Must possess active Florida LPN license
- Must possess active BLS (CPR) card
- Be prepared to deploy to disaster-affected areas, often with short notice.
Work Environment :
Employees may be exposed to extreme cold or hot weather conditions, fumes, or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
Physical Requirements :
Employees may be required to remain in a stationary position, stand, push, pull, climb, kneel, crawl, balance, squat, bend, and reach.
Employees may be also required to use gear to move items around, including, but not limited to, carts and dollies. Employees may also be occasionally required to lift and / or move up to 49 pounds.
