Job Description
SUMMARY
The Career & Technical Education Specialist will be responsible for assisting educators in their quest to serve students by assisting with student accommodation facilitation, presence in classroom for large units / projects, data collection assistance and tracking, large event planning assistance, continued resource organization and management and ad hoc tasks as assigned by Career Academy Coordinator.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assistance with large, collaborative projects within CTE
- Monitor / assist with use of technology / materials in the classroom.
- Assist Career Academy Coordinator with large projects / events
- Assist educators with large projects where additional supervision / assistance would benefit students
- help with data collection / tracking in regards to student credentials
- Assist with proctoring as needed
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the Career Academy Coordinator and district CTE team.
QUALIFICATIONS
Must hold a high school diploma. Education-related or event planning experience preferred. General knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Suite preferred.
Must demonstrate an ability to work cooperatively and effectively with other professional staff members.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to compose documents and tools for instructional use required.
Thorough knowledge of grammatical rules, spelling, punctuation and formats required.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs and all other statistical measurement tools.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed and involved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Ability to utilize courtesy and tact when communicating with others to deliver clear and concise messages.
