Phase 1 : Firsthand experience as a financial professional
During your first year with New York Life, you’ll gain firsthand experience in the day-to-day role of a financial professional. You’ll receive extensive training, access to advanced digital tools, and a comprehensive suite of products to support your success.
Training and Resources
You’ll receive comprehensive training to help you understand and leverage the strength and value of New York Life. Beyond training, you’ll have access to the resources you need to succeed every day—including seasoned experts ready to answer your questions and a full suite of digital tools for sales, prospecting, and marketing. These tools make it easier to attract and retain clients with professional content for web, social media, and email.
Product Solutions
You’ll gain in-depth knowledge of our comprehensive products and services designed to help clients achieve their financial goals. Through its subsidiaries, New York Life offers a broad range of competitive insurance and financial solutions, including life insurance, annuities, long-term care insurance, disability income insurance, and investment products such as mutual funds via our broker-dealer, NYLIFE Securities LLC (member FINRA / SIPC), a Licensed Insurance Agency. To offer investment products, you must hold the necessary securities licenses, maintain FINRA registrations, and affiliate with NYLIFE Securities as a registered representative.
Phase 2 : Your transition to Associate Partner
After completing certain milestones during your first 12 months as a financial professional, you’ll enter a six-month Associate Partner training program designed to prepare you to lead and grow your own team of financial professionals. Throughout your career at New York Life, you’ll have ongoing opportunities for growth and advancement into increasingly senior management roles.
How we will compensate you

If you qualify and are approved to become an Associate Partner, you will receive a salary ranging from $60,000 to $150,000 (with minimums of $66,560 in California and $67,725 in Washington). In addition, you’ll be eligible for bonuses and other performance-based incentives tied to the success of agents in your unit, including extra compensation for the agents you recruit and develop (R&Ds). R&Ds are designed to boost your income and reimburse reasonable and necessary expenses not otherwise covered. You will also have access to a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and long-term disability insurance, accidental death and dismemberment coverage, a pension plan, and a 401(k) savings plan.

Field managers have significant income potential, as their compensation is directly tied to their recruiting performance and the productivity of their team of financial professionals. In 2023, the average income among our 568 recruiters across all levels was $280,000.
