Position Title : Lead Software Engineer

Job Description

As a senior member of the Derivatives Systems technology team, deliver software solutions that are innovative and leverage technical trends in the financial industry.

Lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions using the latest technologies. Create requirements, functional specifications, use-cases, and test plans.

Design, prototype, and author code for software components and applications based on functional specifications and optimize them for performance.

Participate in architecture, design, implementation, deployment, and support efforts. Work closely with project leads, system analysts, and other software engineers to review business requirements.

Ensure adherence to established code-quality standards within the development and QA teams, such as Continuous Integration, Code Reviews, and all required release documentation.

Work across various IT teams to coordinate and facilitate infrastructure upgrades, disaster recovery testing, and cross-functional projects.

Author architecture, technical design, and support documentation. Position is fixed location based in Chicago office; however, telecommuting from a home office may also be allowed.

Job Requirements

Requires a Master’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus four (4) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation involving software development.

Must have four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently) :

• Core Java development
• Object-oriented programming using Java
• Client-Server Architecture : Java and J2EE
• Spring framework technologies
• Message-driven application development including JMS
• Data modeling design in Oracle or MySQL databases

Must have three (3) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently) :

• Microservices and Springboot framework
• Complex SQL queries
• Multi-tier development using at least one of the following : J2EE, JavaScript, JSP, JDBC, or REST Web Services
• Implementing Web Services

Will accept Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Mathematics, Computer Science, Electronics Engineering, or a related field plus seven (7) years of experience as a Software Engineer or related occupation involving software development in lieu of a Master’s degree plus four (4) years of experience.

40 hours / week, 9 : 00am-5 : 00pm, $158,000-185,000 / year.
