Position Summary :

Provides direct patient care under the supervision of a physical therapist, using physical therapy modalities and procedures, as ordered by the patient’s physician.

Carries out patient care programs to progress the patients through the program until re-evaluation by the physical therapist.

• Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
• Administers corrective exercise and treatment for assigned patients under the direction of a physical therapist who has assessed and evaluated the patient.

Complies with the California Physical Therapy Practice Act.

• Assists the physical therapist in their delivery of physical therapy services.
• Follows clinical and personnel policies.Consistently demonstrates professionalism, respect and confidentiality with patients and staff.

Makes every attempt to reduce expense and maximizes production and revenue.

Perform related duties as requested.

Qualifications :

One (1) year experience as a Physical Therapy Assistant, preferred.

Licenses :

Current Physical Therapy Assistant (PTA) license from the Physical Therapy Board of California, required.

Certification :

Current BLS; American Heart Association Healthcare Provider, required.

Each new hire candidate who is offered employment must pass a physical evaluation, urine drug screen and pre-employment background checks before starting work.
