Data Management And Governance Manager

At Regions, the Data Management and Governance Manager serves as the primary point of responsibility, accountability, and monitoring pertaining to the assessment, improvement, management, and governance of Bank Data.

Primary responsibilities include :

• Developing, monitoring, and promoting data standards, tools, and data management and data governance best practices
• Ensuring data assets are cataloged and available for appropriate use
• Promoting and maintaining metadata documentation and explanations as needed to meet the fit for purpose data requirements
• Developing processes to collect and maintain a current inventory of the information data assets available to IT and business partners
• Managing and maintaining the documentation and resolution of data issues
• Reviewing data quality issues, performing root cause analysis, recommending fixes, and / or reporting timely any breaches of thresholds to Data Owners or Data Consumers, and escalating as needed to Enterprise Data Management (EDM)
• Managing, executing, and tracking data issue remediation plans in coordination with all stakeholders
• Promoting ongoing fit-for-purpose critical data information assets
• Demonstrating and maintaining data lineage and flow for Critical Data Assets
• Monitoring data health and quality requirements including the business rules and data movement validation controls
• Creating, tracking, and reporting metrics for data health for stewarded application(s) or data assets (including developing evidence of compliance with data management standards)
• Collecting and updating business metadata and reference data for data assigned
• Translating business rules into data quality rules for Critical Data Elements and producing data validation controls and measurements (in conjunction with Data Custodians)
• Ensuring data and Metadata for all Enterprise Critical Data Elements (ECDEs) is provisioned in an appropriate authoritative source
• Supporting applications and platforms to enable effective sharing of data from authoritative data sources; includes being an advocate and resource for collecting all Critical Data Assets into a shared data environment
• Managing a team of Data Governance Analysts
• Serving as key liaison to System Administrators, Custodians, and Data Owners
• Serving as an active member of Data Councils, Data Management working groups, and other teams as needed

This position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay. This position is incentive eligible.

This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense. This position must be within a reasonable driving distance to a Branch, Consumer Operations, or Professional Office Building with the primary locations being for Birmingham, AL or Atlanta, GA. Exceptions to the geographic location requirement may be made for current Regions Associates who work remotely.
