About The Position
Job Title : Radiology Technologist Job Specialty : Cardiovascular Invasive Job Duration : 13 weeks Shift : Day, 6 : 30 AM - 5 PM, 4x10 Hr Guaranteed Hours : 40 hours per week Experience : Minimum three (3) years of applicable experience License : IEMA License in Radiology Technology Certifications : - BLS (American Heart Association)- ACLS (American Heart Association)- ARRT Registration in Radiology Must-Have : Knowledge of hemodynamic concepts, cardiac anatomy, and physiology- Experience in moderate sedation administration and policy protocol- Advanced EKG interpretation and arrhythmia recognition Job Description : Assist cardiologists in performing invasive coronary, vascular, and electrophysiologic diagnostic and therapeutic procedures.
- Set up and operate a variety of electrical and imaging equipment and computers.- Display excellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and the ability to organize and prioritize based on procedural findings.
- Advocate for patient needs and ensure focused patient care by effectively communicating and educating during procedures.
- Recognize and assist with anesthesia needs for deeply sedated or anesthetized patients.- Collaborate with research personnel in laboratory-based research.
- Ensure patient safety, satisfaction, and optimal outcomes through excellent communication and professional interaction with physicians.
- Collaborate with team members and other healthcare providers in planning procedure-specific patient care.- Mentor and train team members to achieve a standard of excellence and optimal patient outcomes.
- Interact professionally with vendors to ensure safety and positive outcomes from product and equipment use.- Manage and check equipment for adequate performance and safety, addressing any malfunctions promptly.
- Maintain and manage digital archiving systems for safe patient image and report storage.- Demonstrate the ability to troubleshoot and solve equipment issues within the area.
- Prepare sterile fields and assist in procedures using aseptic techniques, such as passing sterile guidewires and catheters.
- Report significant observations and reactions, and document care provided.- Accurately interpret EKGs and alert physicians of any irregular activity.
- Suggest equipment or procedural changes necessary for maintaining quality patient care and safety.
