Position Purpose :
Food and food service deliverydrivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain.Our delivery drivers not only make sure the customers' productsarrive at their destination at the arranged times and in goodcondition, but they are the face of our company - building lastingrelationships with our customers!
Driver isresponsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck onintrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, andovernight and drive and drop routes for the purpose of deliveringand / or unloading food and food related products to customers in asafe and timely manner and in accordance with Department ofTransportation (DOT)regulations.
PrimaryResponsibilities :
- Communicates andinteracts with customers, vendors and co-workers professionallyensuring questions are answered accurately and in a timely manner.
- Functions as a team member within thedepartment and organization, as required, and perform any dutyassigned to best serve the company.
- Performsall required safety checks (i.e., pre / post trip) includinginspections of tractor / truck and trailer according to Department ofTransportation (DOT) regulations;
inspects tractor / truck andtrailer to insure they meet company safety standards and takeappropriate action as needed.
- Reports allsafety issues and / or repairs required.
- Follows all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines andpolicies.
- Immediately reports all safetyhazards. Inspects trailer for properly loaded and secured freight.
- Performs count check of items and checkcustomer invoices of products that have been loaded.
- Checks and completes in an accurate and inlegible fashion all required paperwork associated with freight.
- Moves tractor to the loading dock and attachpreloaded trailer as needed.
- Drives to anddelivers customer orders according to predetermined route deliveryschedule.
- Unloads products from the trailer,transports items into designated customer storage areas.
- Performs damage control checks on items,scans, and contact supervisor about removing orders according tocompany policy.
- Verifies delivery of itemswith customer and obtain proper signatures.
- Collects money (cash or checks) where required. Loads customerreturns on to trailer and secures trailer doors.
- Ensures that tractor, trailer, and freightare appropriately locked and / or always secured.
- Unloads damaged goods and customer returnsand bring to the driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork.Unloads all equipment, materials and remove trash from trailers asrequired.
- Completes daily record of hours ofservice and enter in log in accordance with Federal DOT, state, andcompany requirements.
- Performs generalhousekeeping duties in tractor, loading dock area and keep trailersclear and clean as required.
- At the end ofthe shift secure all equipment and complete all necessarypaperwork.
- Performs other related duties asassigned.

Qualification :
- 12 monthscommercial driving experience
- High school diploma / GEDor state approved equivalent
- Valid CDL A
- Meetall State licensing and / or certification requirements (whereapplicable)
- Must be 21 years of age
- CleanMotor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
- Pass postoffer drug test and criminal background check
- Pass roadtest
- Valid current DOT Health Card and / or able to securenew DOT Health Card
- Able to hand-lift and utilizetwo-wheeler, lift gate and / or other equipment to move and / or stackproduct cases / freight of varying size and weight throughout shift;
