An established industrial battery services company is looking for a detail-oriented Service Manager to manage our service department and handle customer service interactions, reports, and repairs.
The right person for this position must have successful supervisory experience in an industrial service setting, the ability to effectively communicate with customers, and experience with electronics and machinery equipment.
Experience with forklifts and / or lift batteries and chargers is a plus.
Job Responsibilities
Service Manager's responsibilities include providing the highest level of customer service, developing lasting customer relationships, and managing the service team members.
The service manager maintains a strong working knowledge of all industry standards and practices as well as the company's products and services.
This position reports to the Operations Manager.
- Excellent leadership skills.
- Responsible for preventative maintenance and scheduled maintenance for our customers battery systems.
- Inspection of battery / charger systems to identify problems.
- Maintain customer's battery / charger systems in proper condition.
- Install battery / charger systems according to the manufacturers specifications.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with customers and third-party vendors.
- Delegate and direct service tasks while monitoring the progress of current projects.
- Handling customer complaints or concerns quickly and professionally to maintain good customer relationships to ensure repeat customers.
- Assisting with or performing administrative tasks, such as tracking inventory, processing paperwork for new orders, completing scheduled maintenance documentation properly, etc.
- Properly evaluate site and equipment for appropriate billing status.
- Maintaining strong relationships with manufacturers, dealers, and sales representatives.
- Ensure new employees are trained in company procedures.
- Provide updates to Operations Manager as requested
Qualifications
- Excellent computer skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to lift 100 pounds, climb stairs / ladder
- 2+ years of related industrial battery, electrical, and mechanical training / experience
- Valid driver’s license and good driving record
- Willing to work emergency call out, weekends, or holidays if needed
