The Ohio Department of Aging(ODA) is looking for a skilled experienced and motivated SoftwareData Integration Engineer to play a crucial role in enterprisescaleapplications and technology platforms to share data securely workseamlessly.

The Ohio Department ofAging (ODA) is looking for a skilled experienced and motivatedSoftware and Data Integration Engineer to join the team.

Thecandidate will support State projects enterprisescale applicationsand technology platforms that support the personnel who serve theaging community or the aging community at large.

The idealcandidate will play a crucial role in ensuring that softwaresystems and components work seamlessly together throughparticipation in planning coordinating developing and implementingintegrations using secure and costeffective strategies and providepost deployment support to end users.

Educational Requirements :

4 years college diploma or university degree in computerscience or computer engineering with advanced study preferred orequivalent technical study.

MandatorySkills and HandsOn Experience :

10years direct experience creating enterpriselevel integrationsacross diverse technical environments and crossplatformtechnologies both internal and external systems ensuring dataquality and privacy protection.

10 years ofexperience designing and building web services and API protocolsand schemas such as SOAP and REST JSON and dataintegrations.

Direct handson experience withMicrosoft SQL and / or Oracle automated integration tools.

Extensive knowledge of relational database design andmanagement techniques especially with Microsoft SQL Server andOracle Database.

Oracle or Microsoft SQL Serverexperience.

10 years of .NET WebForms.

Responsibilities :

This position will function as a highly skilledSoftware and Data Integration Engineer with specificresponsibilities that include :

  • Integration Planning : Collaborating with development andbusiness unit teams to gather define and analyze integrationrequirements and objectives translate into technical specificationsand system architecture and ensure that all systems are integratedto meet business and functional requirements.
  • Systems Analysis : Analyze existing systems and understandtheir functionalities and data structures identify integrationpoints and dependencies between different systems.
  • Troubleshooting : Investigate and resolve integrationissues including debugging code and analyzing log filescollaborating with other teams to address crossfunctionalintegration challenges.
  • Collaboration andCommunication : Uses excellent written and verbal communicationskills to produce technical and operational documentation thatexplains integrations to technical and nontechnical users;

Collaborates with crossfunctional teams including developers systemarchitects business analysts and business owners to communicateprogress challenges and solutions.

  • Deploymentand Maintenance : Oversees the deployment of integration solutionsinto production environments providing ongoing support andmaintenance for integrated systems.
  • ContinuousImprovement : Stays informed about new technologies and bestpractices in integration proactively identifies opportunities toimprove existing integrations and proposes enhancements.

Middleware Development : Design and develop middlewarecomponents (APIs) to facilitate communication between systems;implement data transformation and mapping logic to ensurecompatibility between different data formats;

Leverage databasestructure and optimize data storage and retrieval processes forefficient reporting and data management.

  • Coding and Scripting : Write code or scripts to implementintegration solutions using programming languages (ex : Java PythonC#) or integration tools to build connectors andinterfaces.
  • Testing and Quality Assurance : Conduct thorough testing of integration solutions to identify andresolve issues ensure that integrated systems meet performancereliability scalability and security requirements andstandards.
  • Troubleshooting : Investigate andresolve integration issues including debugging code and analyzinglog files collaborating with other teams to address crossfunctionalintegration challenges.
  • Collaboration andCommunication : Uses excellent written and verbal communicationskills to produce technical and operational documentation thatexplains integrations to technical and nontechnical users;
