We are looking for a Director of Client Licensing Compliance & Audit to join the Enterprise division. In this highly cross-functional role, you will be the steward of our licensing integrity, ensuring that all clients strictly adhere to the terms of our license agreements.

Your expertise in legal and contractual domains will be pivotal in identifying non-compliance issues, negotiating solutions, and maintaining the delicate balance between upholding our company's interests and fostering positive client relationships.

This position is based out of our Chicago office and hybrid attendance is required.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Conduct comprehensive audits and reviews to ensure full compliance with licensing agreements across our client base.
  • Collaborate closely with Sales, Legal, and Customer Success teams to address and resolve non-compliance issues.
  • Lead the negotiation process with clients to align their usage with licensing terms, including commercial remediation when necessary.
  • Develop and implement strategies for proactive compliance management to prevent future licensing discrepancies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards, licensing models, and legal requirements related to software compliance.
  • Craft and revise license agreements in collaboration with the Legal team to reflect evolving business needs and market trends.
  • Deliver clear and professional communication to clients, especially when navigating sensitive or challenging discussions.
  • Prepare and present reports on compliance status and risks to senior management, providing actionable insights and recommendations.
  • Foster a culture of compliance and integrity within the company, providing training and guidance to internal stakeholders.

Qualifications :

  • Bachelor’s degree in law, Business Administration, or related field. A J.D. or equivalent is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or commercial management role, ideally within the software or technology industry.
  • Demonstrated expertise in interpreting and enforcing licensing agreements.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of resolving complex compliance issues.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities to manage sensitive situations diplomatically.
  • Highly organized with an analytical mindset and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and able to respond to shifting priorities.
  • Proficiency in contract management software and CRM systems.
