Position Summary
The Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in providing exceptional, patient-centered care utilizing their skills in assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. This position involves collaborating with healthcare professionals to ensure outstanding care and positive outcomes for patients and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, patient-centered care aligning with organizational policies and standard nursing protocols.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and accurately document findings, timely reporting any changes in patient condition.
- Provide age-appropriate care and education tailored to patients and their families.
- Administer medications as prescribed, monitor for side effects, and maintain thorough documentation.
- Assist healthcare providers during procedures as required, while promoting a supportive patient environment.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to create and implement personalized care plans.
- Act swiftly in medical emergencies, participating in life-saving procedures and interventions.
- Champion patient advocacy, ensuring their needs and preferences are integrated into their care plans.
- Deliver educational support to patients and families regarding treatment plans and post-discharge instructions.
- Implement healthcare safety protocols to contain infection risks.
- Operate medical equipment competently to ensure patient safety and care efficacy.
- Engage in maintaining a safe and clean healthcare environment following national safety guidelines.
- Participate in compliance checks, audits, and performance improvement initiatives to enhance care delivery.
- Document all patient interactions promptly in the medical records.
- Participate in continuous professional development to maintain and enhance clinical skills.
- Assist with obstetrics / labor and delivery / postpartum / nursery as required, including patient education on pregnancy and postpartum care.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of clinical nursing experience or student clinical rotations in acute care required.
Skills and Abilities
- Strong understanding of the nursing process and clinical practices.
- Adept in performing thorough patient assessments and effectively communicating findings.
- Skilled in medication administration and monitoring for potential side effects.
- Excellent interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with the healthcare team.
- Organizational skills with a keen eye for detail in documentation and patient care.
- Knowledgeable in safety standards, infection control, and quality improvement strategies.
Licenses and Certifications
- Current RN state licensure or compact state licensure required.
- BCLS certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications preferred.
