The Ingram Micro Sr. Safety Manager position is responsible for helping to develop and lead the safety initiatives of the organization.

The purpose of this position is to serve as the primary consultant with operations management, associates and corporate safety to implement the appropriate safeguards / tools for the protection of our operations teams.

The Sr. Manager of safety serves as the regional lead for on-site safety programs, training, implementation of safety best practices, and subject matter expert on operational safety.

This individual should be able to demonstrate a proven track record of implementing new safety practices to drive change in the environment and reduce safety incidents across the network.

Must be willing to travel throughout North America to assist with safety challenges as needed.

Travel could be as much as 50% and could be during non-traditional days and hours or as needed.

When not traveling, this position has the option of working from one of our distribution center.. The Ingram Micro offices you can office from is located in Fort Worth, TX , Carol Stream, IL, Mira Loma, CA, Moore, SC or Hazel Township, PA.

This position has a dual reporting responsibility; directly reporting to the Executive Director of Security and Safety U.

S. and indirectly to the Vice President of Operations, US.

YOUR ROLE :

  • Manage, develop and implement the corporate safety program across the NA operations team
  • Strong logical troubleshooting techniques required while investigating injuries and safety issues to help prevent recurrence and achieve safety performance goals and requirements.
  • Serve as the primary SME with managers and employees regarding safety and regulatory matters
  • Provide technical advice, guidance and mentoring on safety initiatives
  • Perform ergonomic studies in areas identified as high 'target' injury areas
  • Collaborate to create documented safety programs to support the initiatives of the organization
  • Review, create and train Job Safety Analyses across the network
  • Review risk assessments to ensure compliance and identify risk behaviors and conditions to determine corrective or preventative measures needed.

Train sites on performing individual assessment

  • Ownership of strategic deployment workstreams delivering on corporate targets
  • Create and review existing safety policies and procedures to ensure they are current and appropriately addressing the needs of the business
  • Must become fluent in Ingram Micro's safety operating systems (Safety Champion and EdApp) and be a strong trainer to educate associates / management on how to use these systems
  • Assist with the development of content / curriculum for safety training
  • Drive ZERO risk into our process designs, standard operating procedures and Kaizen activities
  • Leverage operational excellence tools and system to drive desired behaviors and own desired outcomes
  • Develop a culture of safety through education and awareness
  • May be required to act as the on-site safety SME for projects and new initiatives
  • Oversee accident reporting and investigations with a focus on ensuring problem areas are identified and corrected
  • Work with leadership to ensure underlying causes are addressed and introduce alternative methods to prevent injury in the future
  • Train appropriate individuals on how to conduct quality investigations for injuries and near misses
  • Serve as an additional point of contact with state and federal agency complaints and investigations as needed (OSHA, Health Department, Local Fire Authorities with jurisdiction)
  • Seek opportunities to improve the knowledge and skill of the facility managers / supervisors to improve processes and positively impact safe operations.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE ROLE :

  • Minimum education level : Bachelor's Degree (4 year) in Industrial Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, Ergonomics, Occupational Health or related field
  • A minimum of10 years of related experience in environmental health and safety compliance
  • Experience in Industrial Hygiene, OSHA safety inspections, accident investigations, various state and federal safety codes.

Strong understanding of OSHA regulations (General Industry) CFR 1910, 1904

  • Kaizen or similar physical transformation facilitation skills
  • Prior experience in logistics supply chain / distribution or other safety relevant industry like petro / chemical, manufacturing, or the like
  • Supervisory / management experience a must
  • Ability to interface with people at all levels within the company, clearly communicate ideas and concepts, and maintain composure and a high level of calmness
  • Strong interpersonal, written, oral and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to use a PC, including Excel and Microsoft Word.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $113,900.00 - $193,600.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate's primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan.

Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties / requirements, and relevant experience and skills.

Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire.

New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

At Ingram Micro certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including merit increases, annual bonus or sales incentives and long-term incentives.

These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
