Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role for an Associate Attorney at Troia & Associates in New York, NY. The Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing legal advice, conducting research, negotiating contracts, handling litigation matters, drafting amendments to organizational documents, participate in cooperative share transfers and be involved in all aspects of closings and refinances for both commercial and residential properties.
The Associate Attorney will be required to attend court appearances in Supreme and Civil Court.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the New York State Bar - applicants pending admission will not be considered for this position
- Strong background in Real Estate and Landlord / Tenant matters
- Experience providing legal advice and conducting research
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Familiarity with condominiums and cooperatives
- Experience in motion practice
- Knowledge of trial procedures and trial preparation
- Microsoft Office and NYSCEF Proficient
- Experience with Lexis Nexis, ACRIS, HPD, DOB, ECourts, ELaw and / or Landlord / Tenant software is a bonus
