About the Role :
We are seeking a highly motivated Pharmacy Technician for a clinical support role within our Batavia and Mt. Orab Pharmacies.
As a Clinical Pharmacy Technician, you will be responsible for supporting both the clinical staff and pharmacists in delivering effective patient care.
This position involves assisting with prior authorization processes, accurately interpreting refill requests based on established protocols, and managing communication between patients and the pharmacy team.
Minimum Qualifications :
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Active Pharmacy Technician license in the state of Ohio
- 1+ years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in a clinical setting
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems
- Certification from a Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) accredited program
Responsibilities :
- Assist clinical staff in handling prior authorizations and approvals.
- Interpret refill requests, following protocols to approve, deny, or escalate as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document patient interactions.
- Generate reports for clinical pharmacists and inform patients about dose modifications.
- Oversee specific patient care tasks, such as obtaining medication histories and tracking lab results.
- Support clinical pharmacist and administrative staff with clerical and administrative tasks.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to optimize patient care
Skills :
As a Pharmacy Technician in our Clinical Support Role, you will utilize your strong attention to detail and accuracy to ensure that medications are dispensed safely and efficiently.
Your excellent communication and interpersonal skills will be essential in providing exceptional customer service to our patients and healthcare providers.
You will also utilize your medication knowledge in supporting clinical staff with prior authorization processes and effectively managing refill requests in accordance with established protocols.
With a detail-oriented approach to maintaining accurate patient records and documentation, you will ensure seamless patient interactions.
